William Krom

May 11, 1951 — May 11, 2020

William Krom, of High Falls, NY passed away peacefully at home on his 69th birthday. William was born in Kingston, NY on May 11, 1951; he was the son of the late Donald R. and Marion (Moyle) Krom.

William having been born blind was educated at the Blind School in New York City all the way through High School. Later in life William met Edger Roberts, a master pianist trained at Juilliard School of Music. With his excellent ear, William began learning how to play the piano. At times Edger allowed William to place his hands on top of his to feel how the music flowed while listening to every sound in the chords and melody. After a awhile William was able to listen to a piece of music and simply figure it out Suzuki style. The idea Mr. Suzuki got from the way most people learn to speak - hear the word, then repeat it. Then learn how it is written later on.

With many songs both classical and popular William shared his talent playing concerts for Golden Hill Health Care for years. He also worked for Mountain View Manor and the Culinary Place, all in the local area of Ulster County. Even across country in Salt Lake City, Utah William entertained at the Highland Care Center where the people would applause for minutes on end. William always loved to bring memories to his fans that would stimulate the brain as well as uplift the elderly. The motto:
