Sharon R. Pagliaroni-Mertine

Sharon Renee Pagliaroni-Mertine of Kingston, NY, formerly of Accord, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 8, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Hospital. She was 55 years old. Sharon was born on September 15, 1962 in Kingston, NY; she was the daughter of Evelyn (Miller) Terwilliger and the late Ronald J. Terwilliger.

Sharon was a Certified Nursing Assistant and had worked for Golden Hill for 15 years before going into private care. She was a natural born caregiver that had a special gift for not only nurturing the clients she worked with, but also being the best wife, mother, grandmother and friend anyone could ask for. In her younger years she contributed at the family business Terwilliger’s Fruit Stand. Sharon was an avid reader and lover of butterflies. She was a former member of the Alligerville Ladies Auxiliary and she also volunteered with the Kerhonkson-Accord First Aid Squad.

In addition to her mother, Sharon  leaves behind her beloved husband David Mertine, her three children, Timothy Pagliaroni Jr. and his wife Shannon, Alida Palazzolo and her husband Jeffrey and Andrew Pagliaroni and his wife Lindy;  her stepson, Phillip Mertine; her siblings, Veronica and George Rider, Loretta and Paul Rider, Kathy and Barry VanDemark and Donna and John Childs; her brother and sisters in law, Duane Mertine, Dawn Mertine and Jackie and Richard Traficante; her grandchildren, Domenic and Hunter Palazzolo and Sophia and Lia Pagliaroni as well as several nieces and nephews.

Sharon was predeceased by her father Ronald and her first husband Timothy J. Pagliaroni Sr.

Our family sadly lost an amazing woman today. She was a wife, daughter, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and best friend that will be missed dearly. Her soul was a beautiful one that loved life and took advantage of every second to share that with others. The sparkle in her magnificent blue eyes welcomed you and wrapped you in a warm hug whenever she saw you. For all that were lucky enough to be part of her life's journey here, please know that we were blessed by the Lord to have been given such an opportunity to walk the earth with one of His Angels. May she rest in peace.

Visiting will be held on Wednesday, December 13th from 2-4PM and 7-9PM at Humiston Funeral Home, 30 42nd St., Kerhonkson. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, 10AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Whitfield Cemetery, Accord.

 In lieu of flowers: A scholarship fund for nursing students is being set up in Sharon’s name.
