Ruth C. Decker

Ruth C. Decker of Kerhonkson, NY died on Sunday, January 9, 2011. She was 85. Ruth was born on July 13, 1925 in Ellenville, the daughter of Joseph and Ruth (McDole) Coughlin and the widow of Harry P. Decker.

Ruth was a life long area resident raising her family and later working at Channel Master where she was an Office Manager for nearly 20 years. She was a founding member and communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Kerhonkson and was active in her community especially with the Kerhonkson Ladies Auxiliary.

Mrs. Decker is survived by her daughter, Julie Bartle and her husband Mark of Kerhonkson, her two sons; Joseph Decker and his wife Collette of Kingston and James Decker of Kerhonkson. Grandchildren; Joseph, Michael and Kristin. Great grandchildren; Austin, Christopher, Abigail and Ryan.  She was predeceased by her son John Decker, her brother James Coughlin and her sister Dorothy Maxman.

Visiting will be held Thursday, January 13th from 2-4 & 7-9pm at H.B. Humiston Funeral Home, Kerhonkson. A celebration of her life is scheduled for Friday the 14th at 11am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fantinekill Cemetery, Ellenville.
