Rose Marie Greene

Rose Marie Greene of Ellenville, NY and formerly of Accord, NY, passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2023. She was 82 years old. Rose was born in Kingston, NY on May 26, 1941; she was the daughter of the late Louis and Gladys (Smith) Bodie. 

Rose worked as a Dietary Aid for Ellenville Hospital before retiring in 1994. She was a member of the Binnewater Union Free Chapel in Kingston, NY where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was an avid crafter. She spent countless hours knitting, embroidering, and making items from plastic canvas. Rose was a member of Tops Club, Inc., a troop leader of the Girl Scouts of America, and an active member of the Red Hat Society.

In addition to her parents Rose was preceded in death by her step-father, Zeno Albert Wicks, her first husband, Floyd Hornsberger, her second husband, Joseph John Greene and her sister Elizabeth Stevens. She was also predeceased by her beloved dogs Princess and Cinnamon. 

Rose is survived by her siblings, Barbara Allegrante of Salt Point, Louis (Donna) Bodie of Florida, Zeno Clifford (Cathy) Wicks of Oklahoma and Sarah (Angel) Quiles of Florida.

Having no children of her own Rose' greatest joy was watching her nieces and nephews grow up. Nieces and nephews include Angel Quiles, Sara Quiles, Stephen (Jess) Quiles, Cherity (Christopher) Hiltz and Keith Wicks. Great nieces and nephews: Zachary, Conner, Tayah, Koi, Breanna, Jerilyn, Raven, Wynter Rose and Caily Rose. Rose was especially proud to actively participate in helping to raise her great niece, Caily.
