Robert James Brooks

Robert James Brooks a life long resident of Kerhonkson, NY passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 30, 2014. He was 80 years old. Bob was born on May 25, 1933 in Accord, NY; he was the son of Hiram and Margaret (Querry) Brooks.

Bob was a freelance electrician by trade. He was an exempt member of the Kerhonkson Fire Co. and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Brooks married Beatrice A. Booth on August 23, 1953.

In addition to his wife Bea of 60 years, Bob is survived by their children, Deborah Smith and Nancy Brooks both of Kerhonkson, Judith Countryman and her fiancé Patrick Trenholm and Robert W. Brooks and his wife Laurie all of Accord; his sister, Alice Schoonmaker of St. Petersburg, FL; his grandchildren, Carrie Donnelly (Christopher), Ryan Smith (Carolyn), Vanessa Netzley (Derick), Rebecca Brooks (Tom), Alexandra Brooks (Matt), Amanda Countryman and Cory Countryman (Barbara); his great-grandchildren, Haleigh and Anthony Donnelly and Chace Countryman, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial visitation will be held on Monday, February 3rd from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at H .B. Humiston Funeral Home, 30 42nd St. Kerhonkson. A celebration of his life is scheduled for Tuesday at 10 am at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
