Richard W. Smith

Richard W. Smith “Rick” of Kerhonkson, NY passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2016. He was 54 years old. Rick was born on December 2, 1962 in Middletown, NY; he was the son of late Richard L. and Joyce E. Smith.

Rick had recently retired after working for many years as a correctional officer at Eastern Correctional Facility in Napanoch. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a loving father, brother and grandfather.

Rick is survived by his loving fiancé Carla Churchill of Kerhonkson; his children, Karen Smith of Emmaus, PA, Jackie Smith of Alburtis, PA, Stephanie Smith and Mathew Smith of Ellenville and their mother Rita Smith of Breinigsville, PA; his beloved sister, Karen Berger and her husband Robert of Ellenville; his brother, Michael Smith and his wife Maria of Kerhonkson; his grandchildren, Julianna Flores, Aubree and Brayden Lebron and Haylee Giammichele; his niece, Sarah Smith and his nephews Lucas Berger and Zachary Smith.

Visiting will be held on Friday December 23rd from 11AM to 12 PM at St. Marks United Methodist Church, 35 Church St., Napanoch, NY. A celebration of his life will immediately follow. Burial will take place in Fantinekill Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the guidance of Humiston Funeral Home Inc., 30 42nd St. Kerhonkson.
