Richard Gilbert Edwards of Pooler, GA, formerly of Accord, NY died Thursday, October 1, 2009. He was 72 years old. Richard was born on September 14, 1937 in Accord, NY the son of Gilbert and Eva (DePuy) Edwards.

Mr. Edwards was a Prison Guard at the Green Haven Prison in Albany for many years, He retired as Lieutenant.

Richard is survived by his children; Eva Edwards of Kerhonkson, Patty Zakel of West Hill, CA and Diane Mandy of Mill Creek, WA. His companion Mary Anne, his sister Amy Krom of Accord, five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Richard was predeceased by his sisters, Alice Miller and Ala May Sheley.

The graveside service will be on Sunday, October 11th at 1pm at Benton Bar Cemetery in Kyserike, NY.
