Phyllis Elaine Greco of Kerhonkson, NY passed away with her family by her side on Friday, June 4, 2021. She was 68 years old. Elaine was born on April 8, 1953 in Newark, NJ; she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Shirley Annette (Ellis) Greco.
Elaine was married in 2014 to Ralph Poppo. She loved her growing family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had gone to New Paltz High School, studied Fine Arts at SUNY Ulster and earned her Bachelors and Masters Degree in Arts and Education from SUNY New Paltz. Elaine was an Art Teacher in the Pine Bush Central School District for 30 years, retiring in 2019. She was also an accomplished Odyssey of the Mind Coach and advocate for the Storm King Museum.
Besides her husband Ralph, Elaine is survived by her daughters, Kimberly A. Warren and Belinda L. (Warren) Collingbourne; her grandchildren, Brianna, Payton, Danyelle, Sean and Mikayla; and her great grandchildren, Persayas, Adara, Paulie, Leila, Rhea and Lehland.
She was pre-deceased by her siblings, Patrick W. Greco, Timothy A. Greco and Eugene S. ‘Mickey’ Greco.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, June 12th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Humiston Funeral Home, Kerhonkson. A celebration of her life will be held at 1pm on Sunday, June 13th at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow in Fantinekill Cemetery, Ellenville.
