Peter Schwayka

Peter Schwayka of Kerhonkson, NY, died Thursday, July 23, 2009 at Vassar Brothers Hospital. He was 87 years old. Peter was born on July 3, 1922 in Konyuche, Ukraine.

Mr. Schwayka worked as a Carpenter for the Empire State Carpenters Union in Scarsdale, NY. He was a Communicant of Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church in Kerhonkson.

Peter is survived by his wife of 31 years, Natalia of Kerhonkson.

The Panakhyda will begin at 6pm on Sunday, July 26th at the funeral home. The Holy Sacrifice of the Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, July 27th at 10am at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Hastings-on-Hudson.
