Perley Decker

Perley Decker a lifelong resident of the area, died Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at his home surrounded by his family. He was 73. Perley was born in Kerhonkson on February 16, 1935 the son of the late Daniel and Grace Emma (Forman) Decker.

Mr. Decker was a veteran of the United States Army, Navy and Air Force. He was a Truck Driver for the Town of Wawarsing Highway Department for 20 years and a helper at Ron’s Auto. On December 13, 1989 he married Bertha Ashley at the Rochester Town Hall.

In addition to his wife Bertha at home, Perley is survived by his children; Brian of Walden, Ann Stewart (Robert) of Ellenville, Dawn Gibbs (Richard Shultis) of Kingston, Melissa Decker of Lake Katrine and Thomas of Accord, his brothers; Leon, Irvin, Donald, Douglas and Arthur, his grandchildren; Ann Marie, Bobby Jean, Robert John, Christopher Robert, Charmen, Mariah, Mark Anthony, Brittany, Daniel, Alexis, Ashley, Amber, Kevin Jr. and Kaylin Elizabeth Perl, his great-grandchildren; Katherine, Justice, David, Damien, Sulleisa and Yaya. Perley was predeceased by his sisters; Ray Decker, Janet Warner, Frances and Mildred Barringer and his brothers; Burton, Roylee and Pete.

A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.
