Nancy Knauer

Nancy Knauer died peacefully at Ten Broeck Nursing Facility on June 3rd, 2022. Nancy was born in Long Island on May 29th, 1956. She was raised in High Falls, NY and attended Rondout Valley High School, graduating in 1974.

Nancy had a tender heart and devoted herself to raising five children. In addition to spending time with her family, Nancy enjoyed embroidery, often gifting her projects to friends and family. Nancy contributed to the community as an Awana Leader of the Baptist Church and was a loyal and caring foster mother of three children. Nancy’s goodwill was also apparent in her work at ShopRite, where she was known for her compassion toward elderly customers.

Nancy is survived by her beloved husband, Bill Knauer whom she was married to for 44 years, and her three sisters Paula Royce, Christine Royce, and Carol Royce. Nancy also leaves behind her children, Jason (Mandy) Knauer of Kerhonkson, Michael Knauer of New Paltz, Liz (Leon) Decker of Kerhonkson, Rebecca Knauer of Chattanooga, TN, and Virginia Knauer of Ringgold, GA. Lastly, Nancy leaves behind 9 grandchildren, Jordan Knauer, Nathaniel Knauer, Austin Knauer, Patrick Knauer, Leon Decker Jr., Mason Decker, Paulina Decker, Xavier Boisey, Avianna Wojcik, and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 11th at 10am at Humiston Funeral Home, 30 42nd St, Kerhonkson, NY 12446, followed by an interment at the High Falls Cemetery.
