Mary Terwilliger

Mary Terwilliger, 94, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. She lived a very full and happy 94 years. She had many loves, including a devoted husband Richard, three children, Rick, Karen, and Barbara, and grandchildren Andy, Daniel, and Leanne. Hobbies included extensive gardening and creating floral arrangements and wreaths. She enjoyed participating for many years in the Shawangunk Garden Club and loved the friends she made in local organizations. She was a member with Richard of the Kerhonkson Fire Company and the Ladies Auxiliary, the American Legion, the Lions Club, and the Federated Church of Kerhonkson, all of which she enjoyed being a supporter and active member of. She and Richard and many of their friends worked tirelessly at dinners and fundraisers over the years in Kerhonkson to support the local community. They were also outdoor enthusiasts, and enjoyed an active life of sports and biking, skiing, tennis, and golf. They loved their family, and without fail hosted every celebration and holiday gathering at their home. Mary is predeceased by her father and mother, Frank and Mary Sauer, husband A. Richard Terwilliger, brother Frank Sauer, and sister Hilda Hester. Mary is survived by her children, Richard, Karen, and Barbara (Orest), and grandchildren, Andy, Daniel, and Leanne. She will be remembered by other family members including cousins, nieces, and nephews that she loved very much, as well as lifelong friends. Arrangements entrusted to Humiston Funeral Home in Kerhonkson, NY, where family and friends may gather on Thursday, March 6th from 1-4pm. The funeral service will begin at 3pm.
