Mary Ann DeWitt of Kerhonkson, NY, died Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Kingston Hospital. She was 76 years old. Mary was born on January 23,1934 in Kingston, she was the daughter of Richard and Mary (Urel) Whalen.
Mrs. DeWitt was a past member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church and the Kerhonkson-Accord First Aid Squad. She was a certified EMT and was very proud of her accomplishment of becoming an American Heart Association CPR Instructor. Mary had worked for several businesses in the area including AGWAY, Channel Master, and most recently she was a cook at the Casino Restaurant.
On February 11, 1956 Mary married Robert W. DeWitt in Kingston. He died in 2004.
Mary is survived by her children; Michael DeWitt of Albany, Peter DeWitt and his wife Sandi of Stone Ridge, Mary Ellen Ennenga of Florida, Robert DeWitt and his companion Ellen Weitman of Kerhonkson and Thomas DeWitt and his wife MaryRose of Kerhonkson, her brothers; Lou, Joseph, and Frank Whalen, her sisters; Marcella Nerone and Betty Jane Kozlowski, 21 Grandchildren, 17 Great-Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mary was predeceased by her daughter Gail DeWitt, her sister Margaret Pray and her brothers Richard, Jack and Bill Whalen.
