Marion Helena Van Aken

Marion Helena Bush Van Aken, a life long resident of the area passed away at her home on Monday, September 1, 2014. She was 87 years old. Marion was born on May 31, 1927 in High Falls, NY; the daughter of Frend B. and Orpha (Silkworth) Bush.

Marion had married Ralph A. Van Aken on August 26, 1945. He passed away in 1982. She enjoyed going to yard sales and doing her everyday chores on the family farm especially tending to the animals.

She is survived by her children, Betty Jean Van Aken Croswell (Edgar) of Kingston, Ralph A. Van Aken Jr. (Caryl) of Holly Springs, NC and Ronald M. Van Aken (Denise) of Stone Ridge; her sister, Evelyn Davis of Accord; her brother, Wayne Bush of Stone Ridge; her grandchildren, Ralph Van Aken, Kristen Ostheim, Aubrey Van Aken, Christopher Van Aken and Jeffrey Gagnon; 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Marion was predeceased by her brothers, Harold, Frank, Carl, Frend and Vernon Bush and her sister Marjorie Wright.

Visiting will be held on Saturday, September 6^th from 11am to 1pm with a celebration of her life beginning at 1pm at H.B. Humiston Funeral Home, 30 42^nd St. Kerhonkson. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
