Marie "Molly" Rocha

Marie Mercedes Rocha "Molly" 96, of Kerhonkson died on Wednesday, August 1, 2012. Molly was born on February 11, 1916 in Brooklyn Heights, NY to Reinerio and Dolores (Gutierrez) Solis.
Molly had lived in Brooklyn Heights and Queens for the majority of her life, retiring to Woodstock and eventually settling in Kerhonkson. She married Frank Rocha on April 16, 1941 and during their 57 years of marriage, together raised their two daughters. Frank, an engineer for the City of New York, passed away in 1998. She was trained as a dressmaker and was a sweet, charming woman who was well loved by everyone.
Molly is survived by her daughters, Phyllis Rocha of Brooklyn Heights and Irene Rocha of Kerhonkson. Her sister-in-law, Isabel Solis and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Molly was predeceased by her siblings, Sara Garcia Alvarez, Trini Calvo, Connie Bajo, Anita DiChiara, Anthony Solis, and Joseph Solis.
Visiting hours will be held Friday, August 3rd from 6-9 PM at H.B. Humiston Funeral Home, 30 42nd St., Kerhonkson. A celebration of her life will be Saturday, August 4th at 11am at the funeral home.
