Margaret Rountry Flaherty

Margaret Rountry Flaherty of Accord, NY, died Thursday, December 26, 2013. She was 67 years old. Margaret was born on October 31, 1946 in Manhattan; she was the daughter of the late James and Martha Jones Rountry.

Margaret proudly served her country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. She met her husband Jeremiah M. Flaherty in 1969 and they married in 1980.  Margaret had retired from Eastern Correctional Facility where she was a Correctional Officer for many years. She was a loving wife, mother and sister and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her husband, Margaret is survived by her sons, Christian Rountry and Jeremiah Flaherty VII both of Accord: her sisters, Martha (Ray) Guerra of Port St. Lucy, FL and Alice (Jim) Brown Jr of Ellenville; her brothers, James and William Rountry of Dover, DE, and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting will be held Monday, December 30th from 2-4 and 7-9pm at H.B. Humiston Funeral Home, Kerhonkson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10am at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Entombment will follow at Wiltwyck Cemetery, Kingston.
