Lillian Solcberg, “Libby” of Accord, NY, died Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Kingston Hospital. She was 92 years old. Libby was born on May 25, 1920 in Brooklyn, NY; the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Emke) Meyerowitz.
Libby lived in Accord for more than seventy five years, moving to the area when she was 16 years old. She had worked as a housekeeper at the Pine Grove Dude Ranch in Kerhonkson. Libby was known for her love of knitting.
Libby is survived by her daughter, Lorrie Gray of Kerhonkson and her former son-in-law Rick Gray of Kerhonkson, five grandchildren Shane Gray, Steven Solcberg Jr., Michelle Solcberg Markle, Gregory Solcberg and Joshua Solcberg and two great grandchildren Ty and Emma Markle. Also surviving are her beloved niece and nephew Carol Solcberg Whitman and George Solcberg, her great niece Sherry Giammichele and her husband Mark along with their children Robert and Madeleine, and her great nephew Rob Whitman and his wife Izabella along with their children Kloie and Emie.
Libby was predeceased by her husband Sidney, her son Steven Charles Solcberg and her 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
Visiting will be held on Wednesday, February 27th from 10am-12pm, followed by a celebration of her life at H.B. Humiston Funeral Home, 30 42nd Street, Kerhonkson. Burial will be in the Krumville Cemetery.
