Josephine Mesceda

Josephine Mesceda of Kerhonkson, NY passed away at her daughter’s home on Monday March 18, 2013. She was 95 years old. Josephine was born on July 4, 1917 in Laflin, PA; she was the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Voitus) Jurista.

Josephine is survived by her daughters Jeanette Bazinet and her husband Michael of Kerhonkson and Madeline Ray and her husband Frank of Townville, SC; her daughter-in-law Angela Mesceda of Harrisburg, PA; her sisters Margaret Cadden of Afton, NY and Veronica Keraga of Brooklyn, NY; her grandchildren James, Kevin and Peter Mesceda and wife Dorina, Kim LaVigna, Karen Primera and husband Wes, Susan Miller and husband Scott, Michael Bazinet and companion Shannon, Ryan Bazinet and wife Emily, Jason Bazinet and wife Keri, Shawn, Tracy Ray and companion Blaine, Christopher Ray and wife Amanda, Randy Ray and wife Ashley, Daniel Ray and wife Kim, Donna Fanning, Carolyn Mesceda and companion Don, Valerie Grajewski and husband Henry and David Mesceda and wife Heather, 39 great-grandchildren, 16 great great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Josephine was predeceased by her husband James Mesceda; her sons, Donald and James Mesceda; brothers, Joseph and Rudy Jurista; sisters, Louise Gruver, Annie Anderson, Mary Sekel and Agnes Walk and her long time companion Nathan Weiss.

Visiting will be held on Friday, March 22nd from 2-4 and 7-9pm at H.B. Humiston Funeral Home, 30 42^nd St., Kerhonkson. A celebration of her life is scheduled for Saturday 11am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pine Bush Cemetery.
