John Lawrence Woods

John Lawrence Woods of Kerhonkson, NY, died May 18, 2010 at Kingston Hospital. He was 67 years old. John was born on May 29, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY. He was the son of the late John and Helen (Griffin) Woods.

John served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a Former New York City Police Officer and a Retired New York City Fire Fighter. John was a member of the Elks, the American Legion and the VFW-at-Large. He was a former member of O.L.P.H. an Executive Officer of the Cadet Corp and a former member of the Bay Ridge Ridgeman.

John is survived by his loving and caring companion Eleanor Bayetis of Kerhonkson, his son; Gregory Woods of Las Vegas, NV, his daughter; Doreen Woods of Tustin, CA, their mother Angela Fusco, his grandson Chase Woods and his good friend and helper James Bayetis who was like a grandson to him. He was predeceased by his brother Stephen Woods.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 22nd from 2-4 pm at the funeral home.
