John Bohdan Rosola

John Bohdan Rosola of High Falls, NY died Saturday, April 4, 2009 at his home surrounded by his family, after a courageous 5 year battle with colon cancer. He was 58. John was born on May 30, 1950 in Barquisimeto, Venezuela, the son of Yaroslaw and Kateryna (Kowal) Rosola.

John was a veteran of the armed forces having served his country in the 3rd Division of the U.S. Marine Corp during the Vietnam War.

On October 2, 1976 John married Maxine E. Weinstein in Niagara Falls.

John was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church in Kerhonkson. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, kayaking and metal detecting. John was a Lead Carpenter Forman for Servidone Construction. John was a generous and honest man who loved life and will be dearly missed by his family.

Besides his wife Maxine at home, John is survived by his son, Michael Rosola and his wife Nikki of Lagrangeville, and his daughter, Marielle Rosola of High Falls. His mother, Kateryna, and his sisters; Maria Panczak of Philadelphia, PA, Olga Horjatschun of Quakertown, PA, Slava Savicky, Erena Wanko, Ann Gallagher all of Phoenix, AZ, and Marta Shtompil of Louisville, KY. John has two grandchildren, Cole and Anabelle and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his father who died in 2001.
