Joan A. Skiff, age 66, of Kerhonkson, NY, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was born on December 30, 1951 in Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Inge Grataski.
Joan was a lifelong resident of the area who married her long time love of 34 years Michael J. Skiff in a beautiful ceremony at their home on August 12, 2001. One of Joan’s favorite things to do was to go fishing with her husband, her children and her grandchildren. They even had a special spot they loved to go where grandma would always catch the first fish. Joan was the “Best Grandmother Ever” and her life revolved around spending quality time with her grandkids. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Besides her husband Michael, Joan is survived by her daughters; Robin Krom and her husband Christopher Ronda of Accord, Tiffany Gray and her husband Sean Gray of Kerhonkson, and her step-son John J. Skiff of Ellenville. Her grandchildren; Janelle, Jayce, and Isaiah Ronda, Amaya, Arianna, Ayden, and Ashtyn Gray, Myia, Jayden, and Micheal Skiff lll, and John J. Skiff Jr. Joan also has five sisters and two brothers. She was predeceased by her step-son Michael J. Skiff Jr. and her grandson Gianni Ronda.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday, February 18th from 2-5pm at Humiston Funeral Home, Kerhonkson. A funeral service will begin at 4:30pm that evening. Cremation will be private and at the discretion of the family.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Joan’s name to the American Cancer Society at cancer.org.
