Jesse Cohen

Jesse Cohen of Newburgh, NY died on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Elant Nursing Home in Newburgh. He was 81 years old. Jesse was formerly a lifelong resident of Kerhonkson, NY where he was an insurance agent for New York Life for over 30 years. He was a member of Congregation Tifereth Yehuda Ve’Yisroel, Kerhonkson, NY.

The son of Max and Dora Cohen, he was born in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY on November 12, 1929. He is survived by his wife, Edith of 60 years, his two sons, Martin Cohen of New Windsor, and Stewart Cohen of Newburgh; his beloved daughters in law, Kristine Cohen and Nance Cohen; his daughter, Merryl Parker of Oakview, California; son in law Jim Parker; grandchildren, Joshua, Aaron, Sean, Jacob and Justin. He is predeceased by his brothers George and Murray Cohen.

Private Graveside services will be held on Sunday, January 16th followed by Shiva Minyan service at 7PM at the families home in Newburgh, NY.

The family will be sitting shiva on Monday and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
