Jeanne R. Greene

Jeanne R. Greene of Kerhonkson, passed away after a long illness on May 31, 2011 at her home surrounded by her family. She was 74 years old. Born June 5, 1936 in Irvington, NY; the daughter of Francis and Elsia (Damm) Royer, she was a long time resident of the Hudson Valley, an area that she loved.

Jeanne attended the Dominican Academy NYC, and furthered her education at Vassar and Skidmore Colleges. Jeanne had a passion for theatre and dance, attending the School of American Ballet NYC. She earned her teaching degree at SUNY New Paltz and taught English in the Rondout Valley School District and Ulster County Community College.

Part owner of Stone Dock Golf Club in High Falls, she was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling. Her many charitable efforts included Friends of Historic Rochester and the Town of Rochester Historic Preservation Commission.

She is survived by her brother Richard Royer and his wife Catherine, her fiancé John D. North, Sons; Francis O’Donnell, Fred O’Donnell and wife Alyssa, Daughters; Julia (O’Donnell) Deming and husband Michael and Mary O’Donnell and husband Jay “Rivet”, Step-daughter Piper Caruso and husband Rickey and Grandchildren; Ryan, Molly and  Addison O’Donnell and John and Uma Deming.

Jeanne was predeceased by her husband Percy R. Greene and her step-granddaughter Olivia Caruso.

Jeanne’s love of life and dynamic personality will be missed by her family and those close friends who meant so much to her.

All who knew Jeanne are welcome to join in a celebration of her life, on Friday June 10th 6 pm at Stone Dock Golf Club, 12 Stone Dock Rd. High Falls NY
