Janice Mae Bush

Janice Mae Bush of Accord, NY and a lifelong resident of the area passed away in the comfort of her home on December 13, 2020. She was 80 years old. Janice was born on October 4, 1940 in Ellenville, NY; she was the daughter of the late Friend and Viola (Miller) Smith.

Janice had worked for various companies throughout her life including Channel Master, Dyno Nobel and eventual retiring from New Paltz College where she worked for many years. She enjoyed playing BINGO and computer games, going for long drives, cooking, cigarettes and her dogs Teddy and Skipper.

She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her children, Friend Smith and his wife Sandra, Brenda Darnley and her husband Ronald and Juanita Wenzel and her husband Donald; step children, Linda Schneider, Frend Benjamin Bush III and his wife Suzanne, daughter-in-law, Theresa Bush; sisters, Barbara Miller and Sandra Lake; Twelve Grandchildren; Five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Janice was predeceased by her husband Frend Benjamin Bush; her step son, Clifford Bush; son-in-law, John Schneider; sisters, Carol Halcomb and Valerie Hill and brothers, Harry, Donald and James Smith.

Memorial visitation will be held on Friday, December 18th from 3:00 – 4:00 pm with a celebration of her life immediately following at Humiston Funeral Home, Kerhonkson

Memorial contributions may be made in Janice’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
