James Joseph Heglund

James Joseph Heglund, ‘Jimmy’, of Kerhonkson, NY passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at home. He was 64 years old. Jimmy was born on December 28, 1956 in Philadelphia, PA; he was the son of Charles Edgar and Joan Marcella (Palucaitis) Heglund. Jimmy was raised by his grandparents in Patterson, NJ where he spent his youth and teen years. 
 
For many years Jimmy worked in the trucking industry and when he moved to Ulster County he became an accomplished steel welder who worked for M&E Manufacturing in Kingston, NY until the present.  
Jimmy was an accomplished award-winning marksmen who had an avid love of hunting, fishing and all things military. He spent the last 16 years living in the foothills of the Catskills where he rented from Bill & Kathy Hoffstatter. These last years were spent living and loving the animals and nature around him.
Jimmy touched the lives of more people than many would realize and those that knew him were grateful to have him in their lives. We will carry his memory in our hearts always.
