James Ira Decker

James Ira Decker, 75, of Kerhonkson, NY passed away on February 19, 2021. James was born on August 21, 1945 in Ellenville, NY, the son of the late Harry P. and Ruth C. (Coughlin) Decker. 

Jim was a 1963 graduate of Rondout Valley High School. He worked as a Manager for WESCO Electric Supply in Poughkeepsie for many years, and previously was a Manager at both Arthur Treacher’s and Channel Master in Ellenville. Jim was an avid snowmobiler in his younger years, and he was a huge NASCAR fan always.  He most enjoyed traveling to Daytona Motor Speedway and Richmond Raceway regularly with family and friends, making for some of his most memorable moments.

Jim is survived by his brother, Joseph H. Decker Sr. and his wife Collette of Kingston; his nephews, Joseph H. Decker Jr. of Chalfont, Pa. and Michael J. Decker and his wife Kimberly of Kingston; his niece, Kristen Gray and her husband Scott of Kerhonkson, as well as several cousins, great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jim was predeceased by his sister, Julie Bartle and his brother, John Decker. 

Visiting will be held on Wednesday, February 24th from 4-8pm at H.B. Humiston Funeral Home, Kerhonkson. Funeral services are scheduled for 10am on Thursday the 25th at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Fantinekill Cemetery, Ellenville.
