Irene Zielyk

Irene Homotiuk Zielyk, of Kerhonkson, NY, fell asleep in the Lord on April 8th, 2015. Irene was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Myron W. Zielyk.

Irene was born in Ukraine to Wilhelmina and Stanley Homotiuk. She was a well known artist, patron and member of the 94th Branch of the Ukrainian Women’s League of America and an active parishioner of Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church in Kerhonkson, NY.

She is survived by Lubomir and Larissa Zielyk, Marta Zielyk, Sofia Zielyk, Ksenia and Mark Iwasik, their children Kalina and Luke, Ihor and Daria Zielyk with their family and additional family and friends in the Czech Republic, Canada and Ukraine.

Visiting will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 from 5-7pm. The Panakhyda will begin at 6pm at HB Humiston Funeral Home, 30 42nd St., Kerhonkson. The Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday the 15th at 10am at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Pine Bush Cemetery, Kerhonkson.

Contributions in her memory may be made to the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church of Kerhonkson, the Ukrainian Museum in New York or the Patriarchal Cathedral in Kyiv.
