Helen C. Barley

Helen C. Barley of Accord, NY passed away on December 22, 2008 at Golden Hill Health Care Center where she resided for the past 4 years. She was 95. Helen was born on October 2, 1913 in Accord, the daughter of Fred and Ada (Cornelius) Simpson.

Mrs. Barley was a parishioner and a member of the Ladies Aid at the Rochester Reformed Church in Accord. She was a member of the Kerhonkson – Accord Senior Citizens, a charter member of Accord Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of the Friends of Historic Rochester.

Helen was married to Albert “Spike “Barley, Jr. for 62 years. He died on May 19, 2001.

Mrs. Barley is survived by her daughter: Brenda Beesmer of Olivebridge, her sister: Marion Becker of Coxsackie, one grandson, one great-grandson and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Mildred Gifford and Sylvia Rider.
