Hazel G. DeLong

Hazel G. DeLong, age 65 sadly passed away at home, after a 4 year battle with cancer on July 20, 2024. Hazel was born on June 18, 1959 in Islip, Long Island. Hazel worked as a food service provider at Onteora High School, until retiring in 2020. 

Hazel was a very trusting and giving person who would do anything for anyone. Hazel loved her family and friends very much. Hazel is predeceased by her mother Dorothy Craig of Saugerties NY, and by Hilda and Henry Frer with whom she was raised as well as her brother Henry “Sonny” Tackett. Hazel is survived by her daughter Chrissy (Andy) Rider of Olivebridge, NY; her brother Edward (Tami) Jackson of Kerhonkson NY; sister Kathleen (John) Hatfield of Saugerties NY; granddaughter Jasmine Rider, and several nieces and nephews. 

Family and friends are invited to celebrate her memory and life on August 10, 2024 at Humiston Funeral Home, 30 42nd St. Kerhonkson NY from 10am-12pm with a service at 12pm and graveside services to follow at Pine Bush Cemetery on Rt 209 Kerhonkson NY. The family would like to thank Hudson Valley Hospice for their outstanding and compassionate care they provided to Hazel and her family.
