Guy Marks Jr., of Kerhonkson, NY, peacefully passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, March 14, 2024. At the age of 80. He was born on September 11, 1943, in Kingsport, TN, to the late Guy and Ruby (Hopsted) Marks.
Guy's life was one of dedication and service. After graduating from Ellenville High School, he selflessly enlisted in the United States Army where he served as a military policeman until his honorable discharge in 1964. Following the footsteps of his father, Guy worked diligently as an Iron Worker for Local 417.
An enthusiast of the great outdoors and a passionate gardener, Guy annually tended to a pumpkin patch for his children and grandchildren to revel in its beauty. His love for nature extended to raising beagles and being an active member of the Ulster Heights Beagle Club, Neversink Beagles Club, and The Long Falls Association.
He is survived by the love of his life Paulette Catino Marks whom he married on December 18, 1965, their daughters; Alisa Fries (Brian), Deanna Vaughan (James), and Ginger Stickles (Stephen Stickles Sr.). His memory will forever be cherished by his grandchildren Brian, Breanne, Danielle, Morgan, Stephen, and Alayna. Guy is also survived by his brothers William Marks and Phillip Marks with his wife Betty along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Guy was predeceased by his brother Robert Marks.
Visiting hours will be held at Humiston Funeral Home in Kerhonkson on Monday, March 18th from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm followed by a celebration of his remarkable life. He will be laid to rest at Fantinekill Cemetery.
