Gladys C. Wicks

Gladys C. Wicks of Accord, NY died Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at Ten Broeck Commons. She was 84. Mrs. Wicks was born on November 7, 1923 in Stone Ridge, NY the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Simmons) Smith.

Gladys enjoyed crocheting and canning. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend who will be missed by everyone who new her.

Gladys is survived by her children; Rose Greene of Accord, Barbara Allegrante and her husband Phil of Salt Point, Elizabeth Stevens of Ellenville, Louis Bodie and his wife Donna of Lakeland, FL, Clifford Wicks and his wife Cathy of Accord, Sarah A. Quiles and her husband Angel Sr. of Browns Mills, NJ and her stepson Robert Wicks of SC, 7 grandchildren; Dawn Schaffner, Kim LaQuire, Angel Quiles, Jr., Sara Brown, Stephen Quiles, Keith and Cherity Wicks, her step grandson Job Wicks and 15 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Wicks was predeceased by her husbands Louis Bodie, Sr. in 1945 and Zeno “Zeke” A. Wicks in 1990, her sister Mae Bodie and her brothers Harry and Ashton Sr. Smith.

Visiting will be held on Friday, August 15th from 7-9 pm at HB Humiston Funeral Home, 30 42nd St., Kerhonkson. A Celebration of her life is scheduled for Saturday, August 16th at 10 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Wallkill Cemetery.
