Giovanna Rusolo

Giovanna "Jennie" Rusolo, a beloved resident of Accord, NY, passed away on September 9, 2024, at the age of 95. She was born on April 3, 1929, in Manhattan, Little Italy, NY to Rosario and Vincenza Falzone, immigrants from Sicily.

On June 10, 1951, Jennie married Anthony Rusolo in New York City. They were married for over 70 years.

For most of her life, Jennie resided in Brooklyn until she relocated to Upstate New York where she spent many years, and then to a loving home with her daughter Annette, in New Jersey.

Jennie loved her family very much and dedicated her life to them. She took care of not only her children, but her nieces and nephews, brother in laws and in laws. She had a gentle, kind and patient way about her and spoke out only when important and necessary.

She was an amazing hostess and cook. She cared for all those who walked through the doors of her home. You couldn't leave without having something delicious and homemade to eat. 

In her free time, she found solace in speaking with her family and friends on her phone. She would call and begin some of her many conversations with a cheerful comment. Her favorite pastime was watching her daytime 'stories', doing her word puzzles and listening to music of the big band era.

Jennie leaves behind four loving children; her cherished and devoted daughters Annette, Vivian, Laura and son, Gerald. Her sons-in-law, Michael and Frank. She will also be remembered fondly by her seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Additionally, she is survived by her many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who join the grieving family in mourning their profound loss.

She is preceded in death by her parents Rosario and Vincenza, her brother Charles, her sisters Grace and Philomena. She will be in our hearts to remember always.

The family welcomes friends to share their condolences during visitation hours on Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 11-2pm at Humiston Funeral Home in Kerhonkson, NY. The funeral service will begin at 2pm.
