George Rosado, age 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 13th in the presence of his wife and daughter. George was born on May 2nd, 1942 in Bronx, NY to George and Elizabeth Rosado. He is predeceased by his two sisters, Frances Rosado and Linda Rodriguez. George worked for Manhattan and Bronx Surface Transit Operating Authority (MaBSTOA) commuting from his home in Kerhonkson, NY for many years. He retired in 1985 at the age of 43. He then worked for Trailways as well as other bus touring companies where he traveled across the US before completely retiring. He is lovingly survived by his wife, Carolyn, with whom he shared his 60th wedding anniversary this year, and his daughter Jennifer Atkins and her husband Eric of Stone Ridge, NY. His daughter Lisa Quick passed away in 2002.
George was an avid lover of music. He played the saxophone and had a beautiful singing voice. He loved animals and children, traveling with his wife and just being with his family. He was a generous, devoted, loving husband and father with a wonderful sense of humor and a talent for telling stories about his life experiences that always made the people he met laugh and smile.
There will only be a private service for immediate family in honor of George’s wishes.
In lieu of flowers contributions in George's memory may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
