Elvira H. Van Aken

Elvira H. Van Aken of Ellenville, NY, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at the Kingston City Hospital. She was 93 years old. Elvira was born on September 22, 1919 in Krumville, NY; the daughter of George and Flossie (Trowbridge) Wager.

Elvira was a faithful parishioner of the Ellenville Reformed Church. She was an avid reader and was very well liked within the community.

Mrs. Van Aken was predeceased by her husband Edward C. Van Aken whom she married on September 28, 1951 and her sister Alberta Barringer.

Elvira is survived by her children, Charles E. Van Aken and his wife Lori of Samsonville, NY and Shirley A. Bluemle and her husband Albert of Williamsville, NY; her sister, Verna M. Barringer of Accord; her grandchildren, Michelle, Albert IV, and Molly Bluemle and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting will be held on today, March 9^th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at H.B. Humiston Funeral Home, 30 42^nd Street, Kerhonkson. A celebration of her life is scheduled for Sunday at 2:30pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
