Edward P. Osterhoudt, a beloved husband, father & friend passed away March 19, 2025 at the age of 87.
A lifelong resident of the area, he was born in Kingston, NY on December 30, 1937 to Percy & Anna (Urlacher) Osterhoudt. He grew up in the family home in Hurley and graduated from Kingston High School.
Edward married his loving wife Linda (Lee) on October 12, 1963 at the Federated Church of Kerhonkson. They shared a life together for over 61 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda; his sons Michael (Suzanne) Osterhoudt of Napanoch & Matthew Osterhoudt (Roderic Davis) of Kingston.
Early in his life Edward owned his own dump truck hauling a variety of things for others. He worked for many years as an installer for Federal Venetian Blind in Kingston before beginning a new career in maintenance for Imperial Schrade where he worked for over 25 years. In his later years, he worked for Underglass in High Falls, NY.
Edward was a skilled carpenter who along with the help of his wife & family members built his home in Accord where together they raised a family and have lived for the past sixty years.
His love of woodworking and building led to many creations. He created everything from wooden clocks to custom furniture for friends and family. He had the unique ability to take a pile of scrap wood and make a custom creation that will continue to be cherished by those who received them for many years to come.
Friends & Family are invited to pay their respects from 10am to Noon on Saturday March 22, 2025. A service will take place at Noon followed by a private burial.
