Edmund Smith

Edmund Smith of Accord, died on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at Kingston Hospital. He was 72 years old. Edmund was born on October 25, 1936 the son of Alfred and Ellen (Terhune) Smith in Hackettstown, NJ.

Mr. Smith was a veteran of the armed forces having served his country in the U.S. Army.

On April 11, 1959 he had married Nancy Ferguson in Ridgewood, NJ. He drove for the Teamsters Union #560 in New Jersey and Union #445 in Newburgh, NY. Together Nancy and Edmund have lived in the Accord area for 40 years where he owned and operated Accord Sanitation for 10 years. Edmund was an active outdoorsman, he enjoyed getting together with his high school friends to play golf, go hunting and fishing.

In addition to his wife Nancy of Accord, Edmund is survived by his three daughters; Brenda Pare and her husband Thomas of Ruby, NY, Sally Raymond and her husband Christopher of West Shokan, NY, and Mary Raman and her husband Raj of Ames, IA. his sister, Audrey Miozzi of Hawley, PA and five grandchildren.

Visiting will be held on Wednesday, January 7th from 10-11AM at the Rochester Reformed Church, Accord. A Celebration of his life will follow at 11AM. Burial will be in Whitfield Cemetery.
