Douglas J. Smith

Douglas J. Smith of Kerhonkson, NY passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at his home. He was 72 years old. Douglas was born on March 3, 1943 in Brooklyn; he was the son of James and Helen (Zlonkiewicz) Smith.

Mr. Smith had worked for the Transit Authority in NYC for over 30 years. He was a proud member of the NRA and was an avid fly fisherman. He had a passion for trains, a weakness for cookies, enjoyed tending to his rose gardens and had a great sense of humor.

Douglas is survived by his son Steven, his dear friends, Jessica Countryman and Blanca Smith, his grandson Tavin R. Wingard as well his beloved dog Codi. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, May 3rd from 6 to 8 pm at HB Humiston Funeral Home, Kerhonkson.
