Doris Marie Embree

Doris Marie Embree, 87, of Smithfield, NC, formerly of Kerhonkson, NY died on Wednesday, September 03, 2014 at the SECU Hospice House. Born on September 20, 1926 in Irvington, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Peter J. and Flossie Reynolds Feltman. Doris was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Smithfield. Doris and her late husband, Calvin Embree, were charter members of Rochester #2 Fire Station in Accord, NY. Doris was a volunteer firefighter and she was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. 

Visiting will be held on Friday, September 12th from 6- 8PM at HB Humiston Funeral Home, 30 42nd St., Kerhonkson, NY. A celebration of her life is scheduled for Saturday the 13th at 1pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pine Bush Cemetery, Kerhonkson.

In addition to her husband, her father, and her mother, Doris was also preceded in death by her sister, Cathryn Barringer. 

Surviving are: son, Carl Embree and wife Lisa of Smithfield; brother in law, Vincent Barringer and wife Christina of Olivebridge, NY; grandchildren, Sabrina Davis and Darren Embree of Smithfield, and Jason Embree of Raleigh; eight great-grandchildren.

 In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Rochester Company #2, P.O. Box 205, Accord, NY 12404 and/or VFW Post 1455, Ellenville, NY 12428.
