Donald V. Smith, Sr.

Donald V. Smith, Sr., of Accord, NY passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 in the comfort of his home. He was 70 years old. Donald was born on March 9, 1948 in Kingston, NY; he was the son of the late Friend and Viola (Miller) Smith.

Mr. Smith owned Price-Rite Sanitation in Accord from 1987 until his retirement in 2014.

He was predeceased by his wife Lorraine E. Smith; his sister, Valerie and his brother, James.

Surviving are his daughter, Kimberly Cox and her husband Thomas of Stone Ridge; his sons, Donald Smith Jr. and his wife Carrie of Fort Montgomery and Michael Smith of Accord; his grandson, Shawne Rider Jr., his step granddaughters, Caitlin and Delaney Cox; his sisters, Carol, Janice, Barbara and Sandy and his brother Harry.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 25th from 12:00 – 2:00 PM with a celebration of his life immediately following at the H. B. Humiston Funeral Home, 30 42nd Street, Kerhonkson, NY.  Burial will follow at Accord Rural Cemetery.
