Don C. Mackenzie

Don C. Mackenzie, 82, of Napanoch, NY passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024.

He was born on July 21, 1942, in Madison, Wisconsin and was the son of the late Gordon N. and Alice K. Mackenzie.

The Mackenzie family later moved to Tenafly, New Jersey and Don graduated from Tenafly High School, served in the National Guard and trained in Fort Dix, New Jersey.

Don relocated his young family to Accord, New York in 1971 for a slower pace in life. He was a member of the Kripplebush Fire Department and worked for Overhead Door, Minard Farms, and GJM Transportation. He was a gifted mechanic and could fix just about anything. He was a hard worker with a strong work ethic which he passed along to his three children.

He is survived by his son Don (Tina) Mackenzie, and daughter Bonnie (Shawn) Mackenzie, sister Tam Spitzer, partner Elizabeth (Betty Hughes), and her children Donald Hughes and Shannon Hughes. His grandchildren, Don Scott, Maurica, Dylan and Dustin Mackenzie, Caleb and Ian Vickery, Cheyenne Marchetti and Fenner Hughes. Don also has eleven great-grandchildren. A niece and nephew. He is also survived by his former wife Frances Mackenzie. In addition to his parents, Don is preceded in death by his son Sean C. Mackenzie.

His funeral service will be held privately.
