Diane Aversano, a cherished mother, wife, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on November 29, 2017, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She was deeply loved by her extended family and friends, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness.
Diane was married to Albert Aversano for 47 wonderful years, who passed away recently. She is survived by her son, John Scoza, his wife Terri McIntosh, and their children Anastasia and Shawn. She also leaves behind seven great-grandchildren, her sisters Kay Seekamp of Chestertown, NY, and Barbara Martin of Dallas, TX, along with many beloved nieces and nephews. Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Vern Tweddle.
Born on June 11, 1947, in Middletown, NY, Diane was a graduate of Middletown High School, class of 1962. She attended SUNY Oneonta and earned a bachelor's degree in education, subsequently becoming an elementary school teacher. Her passion for art led her to pursue a degree from the Butera School of Art in Boston. In 1980, she opened Designer Signs of Kingston, where her artistic talent and strong work ethic flourished for 12 years before she passed the business onto her son in 1992.
Following her time in Stone Ridge, Diane and Al traveled extensively across the country, embracing the adventures life had to offer before settling in Myrtle Beach. There, she founded her second successful business, Organizing Made Simple, where she relished the opportunity to help others, bringing joy to both herself and those she served.
Diane was a remarkable individual whose vibrant spirit, radiant smile, and infectious laughter will be sorely missed. Her unforgettable blue eyes reflected the beauty within her, and her life's tapestry was woven with creativity, adventure, and love. The kindness and vitality she shared with those around her will continue to resonate in the countless lives she touched so profoundly. Diane’s legacy of love, warmth, and artistic spirit will be cherished by all who knew her.
Diane will be interred with Albert on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 11:45 at the Fairview Cemetery in Stone Ridge.
