Crystal J. White

Crystal Jean White of Wawarsing, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at the Albany Medical Center. She was 27 years old. Crystal was the third generation of girls born in Kingston, NY on July 12, 1987 with two teeth in her mouth. She was the daughter of Donna Lunan White and the late James Harlan White Sr.

Crystal graduated from Rondout Valley High School in 2004. While in school she attended BOCES for Cosmetology. She was currently employed by Gateway Community Industries in Rosendale as a Residential Counselor.

Crystal received the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and was a disciple of New Testament Church of Jesus Christ, in Ellenville, NY, along with her children, Curtis and Gabby for eight years. Her love for God and the ministry was exemplified through her conversations with others as she witnessed God's love, God's forgiveness, God's salvation, and God's grace. Often times you could hear the excitement in her voice as she expressed the awesomeness of God in her own life.

Crystal was a special part of her church family; serving on the Usher Board, the Youth Choir, and the ministry she loved so much, Praise Dancing. She also assisted with the Helping Hands Food Ministry of the church and was always willing to help wherever she could. In the words of her mother, “all Crystal did was go to church all the time, go to rehearsals, and pray all the time.” And that was Crystal's life. Her life exuded the warmth and love of Christ to all, filled with words of encouragement that extended hope to those that would listen. Crystal wanted everyone she spoke with to experience the love of God as she did and to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.

Crystal will be missed by her church family and our memories of her will last forever. 

In addition to her mother Donna, and her children Curtis Simpson and Gabriella White, Crystal is survived by her brothers James H. White Jr. and John-Michael White, her step sister Vera J. White, her nieces Alexus Rose and Ileana White as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

Crystal was predeceased by her step father Ray Burkard, uncles John Burkard and Ronnie Lunan and her cousin Matthew Wolff.

Visiting will be held on Saturday, May 2nd from 10am to 12pm with a celebration of her life beginning at 12pm at the New Testament Church of Jesus Christ, 39 Clinton Ave., Ellenville, NY 12428.
