Betty Mae Smith

Betty Mae Smith born September 23, 1928 in Horsehead, NY. She was 81. Passed away after a long illness on December 22, 2009 in her home in Felton, PA. A former resident of Wawarsing, NY.

Betty was a charter member of the Kerhonkson-Accord First Aid Squad. She was there when they first opened the doors and started the squad. She volunteered for many years. She started a family of volunteers, 2 sons and 1 grandson have served with the same squad. She was a Christian woman. She loved to read her bible and had her views and liked to talk about them over a cup of coffee. So if you stopped by she always had a coffee pot on.

She is survived by her three daughters; Mary Jane Yonker of Red Lion, PA, Robin & Ron Netzley of Accord, NY, Margaret Wineholt of Felton, PA and four sons; Warren Davis & Kim Westphal of Bradenton, FL, Robert Smith Jr. & Karen Budd of Thomson, GA, Randy & Debra Smith of Kerhonkson, NY, Mark & Michele Smith of Accord, NY and 19 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. One sister, Joanna & Ronnie Babcock and five brothers; Roe Goldsmith, Gene Goldsmith, Lyle Goldsmith, Charles Goldsmith and Jack Terry. Five other siblings died previously.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, December 28th at 11am at HB Humiston Funeral Home, Kerhonkson. Burial will follow at Pine Bush Cemetery, Kerhonkson.
