Betty Lou Rich

Betty Lou Rich, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2024 in Yardley, PA. Born on September 18, 1942, in Kingston, NY, she was the daughter of Golden and Henrietta (Macintosh) Lyons.

Betty Lou dedicated her life to education and service, working as a Teacher's Assistant in special education at the Children's Annex in Ellenville, NY. In addition to her professional work, Betty Lou was a faithful Christian and had devoted her life to Jesus Christ. She was a Sunday school teacher, and it bought her joy instilling values and knowledge in the lives of many children.

On August 4, 1963, Betty Lou joyfully married Vance D. Rich at the Rochester Reformed Church in Accord, NY. Together, they built a loving home in Kerhonkson, where they raised their family for over 45 years.

Betty Lou is survived by her loving children, Kathleen Kelly Edwards, Heather Joy Silvius (Mark), and Timothy Daniel Rich; her cherished grandchildren, Alton (Crystal), Vancent, and Anthony Edwards, Jenna, Sarah (fiancé Nicolas), and Gabby Redmond; her great-grandchildren, AJ III, Avery, and Javannah Edwards, and Ella Gasiorowski; and her brother Golden “Johnny” Lyons. Besides her parents and loving husband Vance, she was predeceased by her brother Bobby Lyons and her sister-in-law Donna Lyons.

Her life will be honored with a visitation on Friday, September 6, 2024, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at Grace Community Church in Lake Katrine. Betty Lou will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery in Stone Ridge.

Betty Lou Rich will be remembered for her kindness, dedication to her family, and her unwavering spirit. She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion in the hearts of all who knew her.
