Arthur C. Keener III

Arthur C. Keener III of Kerhonkson, NY, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2017. He was 79 years old. Son of the late Arthur C. and Marguerite (Tice) Keener Jr., Arthur was born on September 14, 1937 in Ellenville, NY.

Arthur married Patricia LaCasse on June 16, 1956 in Ellenville. A devoted husband for over 60 years, Arthur was also very committed to his two daughters.

Arthur was employed by and retired from IBM, first starting in Kingston and then later working in Poughkeepsie. He took great pride in his work. Arthur loved the outdoors and enjoyed working on and fixing all things mechanical. Arthur had a special place in his heart for animals, especially his cats. Arthur was the pillar of his family. He will be missed not only by his family, but by all of those who were blessed by having known him. 

Besides his parents, Arthur was predeceased by his grandparents who raised him, Arthur C. and Adlean (Clyne) Keener Sr.

He is survived by his loving wife Patricia. His daughters; Diane Fahr of Poughkeepsie and Kathleen Pfeiffer and her husband Robert of Hurley. His grandchildren; Aaron Ulrich, Jayne Ulrich, Makenzie McCardle, Shelby Fahr and Destiny Fahr. And, his brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Rosemary Keener. Arthur was predeceased by his brother and sister, John Keener and Theresa Keener. 

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 from 5:00-8:00PM at Humiston Funeral Home, 30 42nd Street, Kerhonkson, NY. The funeral service will begin at 7:00PM that evening. Burial is private and at the discretion of his family.
