Arlene Joan Kelly

Arlene Joan Kelly, a beloved resident of Olivebridge, NY, and cherished member of her family and community, passed away peacefully in Poughkeepsie, NY, on October 1, 2024. Born on December 13, 1936, in Union City, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Anna (née Konig) Firstner.

On November 19, 1955, Arlene married Jack Kelly Sr. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Staten Island, NY. Together, they built a loving family that Arlene continued to nurture after Jack’s passing in 2013. She is survived by her daughter, Arlene Kelly, and her son, John 'Jack' Kelly Jr., along with his wife, Sandy. Arlene was also a proud grandmother to Megan and Jonathan, a wonderful great-grandmother to Willow and Jameson, and honorary grandmother to Katie and Zachary Kelder. She is further survived by her sister, Patricia Tucciarelli, as well as sisters-in-law Frances and Louise Kelly, and many nieces and nephews, who will all miss her dearly.

Arlene dedicated much of her life to serving others, working as a school aide within the NYC public school system, where she impacted the lives of many children. She was an active member of the Samsonville United Methodist Church, where she shared her passion for community and faith.

In addition to her work, Arlene enjoyed travel, knitting, and reading. Most importantly, she treasured the moments spent with her family, creating lasting memories that will be cherished in their hearts.

The family invites friends to gather in remembrance during visitation hours on Friday, October 4, 2024, from 4 PM to 9 PM at Humiston Funeral Home in Kerhonkson, NY. A funeral service will be held at the Samsonville United Methodist Church in Olivebridge, NY, on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 11 AM.

Arlene will be lovingly remembered for her kindness, compassion, and the warmth she brought to all those fortunate enough to know her.
