Anthony Joseph Pumilia, affectionately known as "Tony the Butcher", passed away peacefully on January 7, 2025, in Kingston, NY, at the age of 96. Born on April 24, 1928, in Brooklyn, NY; he was the son of Arcusio and Lillian (Bentivegna) Pumilia.

Tony worked as a butcher for the majority of his career. He held positions at several establishments, including the NYS Correctional Facility, Walbaums, Hannaford, and ultimately Shoprite.

In addition to his career, Tony honorably served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, receiving his honorable discharge in 1952. 

He leaves behind his sons, Michael Pumilia and his wife Margaret, Anthony Pumilia and his wife Anne, and Thomas Pumilia and his wife Rosemary. He is also survived by four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Tony was preceded in death by his wife Anna Pumilia, son Leonard Pumilia, and sister Anna.

Services for Tony will be held privately.
