Alexander A. Lypka

Alexander A. Lypka, age 88, of Accord, NY died Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at his home. Alex was born June 4, 1925 in Clifton, NJ. He is the son of the late Andrew and Lena (Zuzanska) Lypka. 

Mr. Lypka served his country in the Merchant Marines during World War II. He had been an active member of the American Merchant Marine Gene DeLong Hudson Valley Chapter and was a past member of the Accord Fire Department. Mr. Lypka was a Stationary Engineer with the NYC Water Department working at the Ashokan Reservoir, retiring in 1971.

Alex is survived by his wife Ruth (Schartmann) at home. His daughters; Deborah Slutsky and her husband Warran of Kerhonkson and Heidi Ruger of Rockport, ME. His brother, Pete Lypka of North Carolina and Alex has 5 grandchildren.

Funeral services are private, at the discretion of the family and under the guidance of HB Humiston Funeral Home, Kerhonkson, NY.
