Alex Kochek

Alex Kochek of Ellenville, NY and more recently Middletown, NY passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at the age of 101. Alex was born on October 26, 1918 in Massena, NY; he was the son of Sam and Helen (Zawadski) Kochek.

Alex served his country in the Army Air Force during WWII and earned the rank of Corporal. He was honorably discharged in 1946. Alex had retired from the Eastern Correctional Facility where he worked as a water plant supervisor for 23 years. While living in Ellenville, Alex was active with the Elks and Masonic Clubs. He was also a communicant at St. Mary and St. Andrew’s Church. Alex was also a member of the American Legion in Pine Island.

Alex interests were Waltz and Polka Dancing, watching NASCAR, traveling and being around people. He was a also huge Jimmy Sturr Fan.

Alex was predeceased by his wife Velma I. Dumond Kochek as well as his brother and sisters.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 pm on Monday, July 20th at Pine Bush Cemetery in Kerhonkson.
